Ousman Lalustani scored a screamer as Ascot United got a crucial 2-0 win against Reading City 2-0 in a table-topping clash in the Premier Division North Table.

Despite the cold temperatures with -3 at kick-off, Ascot United player Ousman Lalustani gave the fans something to warm up to with his 2-0 goal in the match against Reading.

The Ascot player received the ball on the left side, took a few dribbles past a defender, and smashed the ball into the net, leaving the Reading goalkeeper without a chance.

Ascot United shared the goal on their social media channels right after the match, and the goal quickly got shared across different accounts. Even the England FA Twitter account shared the goal calling it one of the “admin's favorites”.

Lalustani didn’t even mean to go for it from outside the box, but as he saw that his opponent kept backing, he went for it:

“The right-back kept backing off all game, so I couldn’t really push it past him, and I was being doubled up on. This time when I got the ball from my teammate and the fullback backed off, a massive gap opened up, and I trusted myself to hit them from anywhere with pace and power.” Lalustani tells Veo.

The goal is one of the best the Ascot United player has ever scored and has given him a lot of self-confidence:

“For me, that was probably one of the best goals I have scored and for it to get that much appreciation, it’s a nice feeling. It does motivate you to start shooting from far out!” Lalustani says.

The England FA’s “admin's favorites”
It wasn’t only the club that shared the goal on social media. The day after the match, the England FA shared it on their Twitter profile, where the admin called it one of their favorite goals. Seeing it being shared across social media channels has made Lalustani really happy:

“It is a good little achievement. Hopefully, it can bring more recognition not just for my goal but for Ascot United FC as well.”

Lalustani almost got a heart attack after the match when his coach, as a joke, told him that, unfortunately, the Veo camera hadn’t recorded the match. Luckily for him, it was only a joke, as the recording is not only important when scoring great goals but also to analyze how to improve performance on the pitch:

“This had to be on Veo. The gaffa told me the Veo was corrupted as a joke, and my head was flying.”

“Moments like this are always nice when captured because you can look back on it. Veo is a must for every club that is looking to improve their performances. It is also important for players because they can see the mistakes they make in the game and the things they do well.” Lalustani ends.
