Does the camera come with a data plan?

The camera does not come with a data plan. You need to input an active SIM card with a capable data plan to your Veo Cam 2 to live-stream.

Important: We highly recommend creating a data-only subscription. A SIM card made for a smartphone, including phone service and text messages, will typically not work with your Veo Cam 2. When you acquire the SIM card, make sure to have confirmed by the carrier that your subscription is data-only.

Can you use the SIM card for your cell phone to enable live-streaming?

Most carriers do not support this, as phone plans are tied to a specific device. Some carriers may support this. Please reach out to the individual carrier for support.

How good is the quality of the live-stream video?

Accepted Answer

You can live-stream at 1080p with 8 Mbit/s and 720p with 4 Mbit/s.

Will viewers be able to watch the live-stream on TV?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Live App is compatible with both Airplay and Chromecast. You can also connect via a cord to your TV.

Can the video be streamed outside of the Veo Live app (e.g. Facebook or Youtube)?

Can I live-stream a training session?

Theoretically, yes. However the user flow and follow cam is optimized for live-streaming matches which means that if you try to livestream a training session the scoreboard might be a bit confusing and if multiple balls are in play, the follow cam might also be a bit off.

How much data will a live-stream consume?

Accepted Answer

Live streaming requires a minimum of 4 Mbps, preferably 8-12 Mbps in upload speed. A 110-minute live stream will require 3 - 7 GB of data depending on video quality. The image quality of the stream is influenced by the upload speed:

1080p HD - 8 mbps - 6.6 GB (110 mins)

720p SD - 6 mbps - 4.95 GB (110 mins)

480p - 4 mbps - 3.3 GB (110 mins)

How well does Veo live-streaming work in remote areas?

The Veo Camera app will have a feature that checks your internet connection before starting a stream. If there's limited or no bandwidth you'll see a notification. To find out which provider covers the area the best, have a look at their coverage maps. At a later stage, Veo will also provide some guidance in finding out the best option for your specific case. To see if the live stream will work in your specific area, you can make a preliminary test with your phone. Head to the pitch with your phone and use speedtest.net. Your upload speed should be between 8-12 Mbps.
