Building the future for American soccer
July 9th 2020

American soccer has never been bigger and has grown to be the 4th most popular sport in the United States. One of the MLS' newest clubs, Inter Miami, has huge ambitions for the massively talented pool of youth players in South Florida. One of the ambitions is to make video analysis available for the youth teams on all levels.

The Inter Miami CF Academy provides the most talented youth players in South Florida with real, achievable pathways to reach the highest levels of the sport. The club consists of seven fully funded teams across the age groups from U12 through U17.

"Everything here is professional, everybody's competing for the same goal, that is to get one the first team," says Andre Zuluaga Silva, player for the Inter Miami CF U17.

Building the soccer stars of tomorrow

The goal for the club is to recruit, retain and develop local talent for the senior team. The academy trains and competes at the Inter Miami Training Center, alongside the MLS and the USL teams.

"From the moment that we got here, the first thing we wanted to do was to start the academy, which is the foundation of the club," says Kurt Schmid, Technical Director at Inter Miami.

"It is both a fascinating and exciting part of developing talented players into pros, all the way down to year twelve," Schmid says.

How the technology is changing the game

Keeping up with the technology makes the difference when the club continues to evolve.

The possibility of recording the young players with Veo provides both the coaches, individual players, and the team with the opportunity to analyze what works on the field and what doesn't.

"I think that the technology is changing the game; it's making it a lot more detail-oriented. We can notice things that we first did not notice and we can study new aspects," says Pedro Cavalcanti, U13 Head Coach at Inter Miami CF.

In addition to making a more detailed analysis, it also leads to a more precise preparation.

"My coach is making specialized videos where he puts the mistakes I make, so I can learn from them, and the good things that I do, so I can keep doing them," says Ian Urkidi, player for Inter Miami CF U13.

The technology that Veo offers also makes a big difference for older players.

"Now we can record videos and send them out to college scouts, that hopefully take us to get seen somewhere," says Silva.

Veo is happy to be a part of an ambitious club like Inter Miami that shares our values for the sport.
