Tennessee is developing talents through soccer recording
November 2nd 2021
Anna Louise Fjelldal

We've visited Tennessee Soccer Club, the largest competitive youth soccer club in the state, and learned how the club is using our equipment to develop soccer talents.

Tennessee Soccer Club's mission is to promote love for soccer by developing excellence in the game for their players and coaches to impact the community positively. The academy soccer emphasizes maximum development of individual skills and provides the opportunity to apply those skills in a competitive environment. A huge part of developing their game is by looking through the Veo footage.

Committed to the youth soccer community

"The value of a teaching moment in youth soccer is enormous."

Stuart Brown is the Executive Director at Tennessee Soccer Club. Alongside his administrative duties, he also coaches the U17 girls' team at the moment.

Brown has shown a real commitment to the youth soccer community in Tennessee, and in 2018 he was named "National Youth Coach of the Year" by the United Soccer Coaches Convention.

Technology has been an essential part of Brown's and the rest of the team's coaching. Having a camera to record soccer games and analyze it afterward has been crucial for the team.

"There are so many moments in the game that you can take successes and learning opportunities from, and then you can be critical. To be able to go back and reflect on that with players is a tremendous asset," says Brown.

"Before Veo, we had to find someone to use the camera and make sure they were actually paying attention whereas now with Veo, the ball goes in the goal, bang, clip right there for you," says Louis Liberatore, Director of Goalkeeping, Tennessee Soccer Club.

Liberatore has a vast coaching experience within goalkeeping. With Veo all of the highlights, including goals and penalty kicks will be counted, collected and graphically presented in a list in the Highlights panel.

"For me, especially with the goalkeepers, you go right to the goal they concede, and then with the interactive feature, it's super simple," Liberatore continues.

Growing together as a team

The academy programs play from August through May, with team traning twice weekly and games on the weekends. The focus in the academy is player development in a fun and rewarding environment.

"I think whenever we have a rough game, it's helpful to go back and watch because we can pick out what we did wrong and how we can move on from it. Veo has just been a really huge aspect of us getting better and growing together as a team." says Emma Shields, U17, Tennessee Soccer Club.

Creating highlights for college recruitment

A college scholarship is the goal for many of the young talents at the Academy. Being able to create different highlights for college recruitment as well as for their own personal use has been a huge benefit for the players.

"It's really neat to see them cut up the film and create different highlights for college recruitment, as well as for their own personal use," says Brown.

Partnering with the best

"It goes along with who we are at Tennessee Soccer Club, where we try to develop excellence. You can only do that by partnering with the best."

"By partnering with Veo, I feel like we can continue to service our members and develop excellence within each one of them and our staff," says Brown.

Veo is glad to partner up with a club that shares our goal to make soccer accessible to all players. Together with Veo, Tennessee Soccer Club can continue to work on their players' development and make the sport more accessible.
