Making advanced technology accessible: the world’s first portable AI sports camera that can live-stream your games autonomously

Veo’s innovative sports camera has redefined what a camera can do. We're making advanced technology accessible. Through a combination of breakthrough AI technology and ease of use, we have helped thousands of coaches improve their teams and provided athletes with the tools to boost their development. But technology moves quickly in a digital world, and it’s vital for us in Veo that the most advanced sports technology continues to be made accessible to all.

When developing the new Veo Cam 2, we knew that to close the technological gap to the elite, our community of grassroots and youth sports teams needed access to the same type of technology that is helping professional teams take their game to the next level. Professional teams typically have instant access to their recordings, advanced AI analysis tools for development, and they can live-stream their games to forge a deeper connection with their fanbase. We wanted to give our community the same opportunities. That’s why we re-engineered every single part of the current Veo Cam 1 and replaced it with the most powerful components to enable these new capabilities.

Until now, the processing “magic” that empowers coaches and players to watch the recorded games has happened in the cloud, limiting how quickly Veo could serve the recording to the users.

The way to overcome this was to move the processing to the camera itself. But with a powerful AI to enable the processing, the solution needed an equally powerful processor. So we went with the best solution on the market: an NVIDIA superchip, designed for cutting-edge innovations such as robots, medical devices, and intelligent cameras. By building Veo Cam 2 around the world’s smallest AI supercomputer, the camera now has the computational power to perform AI inference – in this case, to create a broadcast view of a soccer game that can now be live-streamed.

The new Veo Cam 2 also comes with a new app, Veo Live, where family, friends, and fans will be able to live-stream soccer games from anywhere. Advanced AI analytics will include heatmaps, 2D maps, momentum graphs, and other elite-level coaching tools compatible with both Veo Cam 1 and Veo Cam 2. As we continuously improve the Veo AI, more tools will be developed and added through frequent software upgrades.
